Gloss PPF is the default choice and what most customers want. A good gloss film adds measurable depth to the paint, making even ordinary factory white or silver look wetter and richer than it did at delivery. Matte PPF transforms the character of the vehicle entirely, converting any factory gloss colour into a smooth satin-matte finish. It has become popular on Thars, Scorpios, and superbikes, where the matte look suits the vehicle's attitude. Matte film carries the same protective properties as gloss. It is also a practical alternative for owners of factory matte-paint vehicles, since factory matte paint is notoriously difficult to maintain and cannot be polished, whereas matte film over it can simply be replaced if damaged. Full body PPF covers every painted exterior surface of the vehicle: bonnet, bumpers, fenders, doors, roof, pillars, boot, and mirrors. It is the complete solution, and for luxury car PPF customers or anyone planning long-term ownership, it is what we recommend when the budget allows, because it removes every 'unprotected panel' worry and keeps the finish uniform as the vehicle ages.
Partial PPF concentrates the protection where damage statistically happens. The most common package is the full front end: complete bonnet, front bumper, both front fenders, headlamps, and mirror caps. This zone takes the overwhelming majority of stone chip and road debris damage on highway-driven cars. Other popular partial options include door edge and door cup protection against ring and key scratches, boot loading lip protection, and door sill protection. A honest conversation about how and where you drive usually settles the question quickly. This is the comparison question we answer most often, so here is the plain version. Ceramic coating is a liquid-applied chemical layer that bonds with the clear coat. It delivers strong gloss, hydrophobic water beading, resistance to bird droppings and chemical etching, and easier washing. What it cannot do is stop physical damage. A ceramic-coated bonnet still gets stone chips. PPF, being a thick physical film, stops stone chips, scratches, scuffs, and minor abrasion outright, while also providing the hydrophobic and UV benefits.
The two are not rivals so much as different tools. PPF costs more and protects more. Ceramic costs less and enhances more than it protects. Many of our customers combine them: PPF on the impact-prone front end, ceramic coating over the rest of the body, and in some cases a ceramic top layer applied over the film itself for extra slickness and easier maintenance. If your primary worry is highway driving, parking lot scratches, or preserving a new vehicle's paint for the long term, PPF is the correct answer. If your primary goal is gloss and easy washing on a city-driven car, ceramic may be enough. A quality TPU film installed properly lasts between five and ten years depending on the film grade, how the vehicle is used, and how it is maintained. Films come with manufacturer warranties against yellowing, cracking, and delamination for a defined period, and we explain the exact warranty terms of the film you choose before installation.
Will PPF damage my car's paint when it is removed?
Genuine TPU film removes cleanly from factory paint without damage when taken off with proper technique and heat. The paint underneath is revealed in the condition it was in on the day of installation. Problems during removal are almost always associated with cheap PVC films or with panels that were repainted poorly before the film went on, which is one reason we inspect paint carefully before wrapping.
Can PPF be applied over ceramic coating?
Film adhesive bonds best to clean, bare clear coat, so we do not recommend applying PPF directly over a freshly ceramic-coated surface. The better sequence is film first, then ceramic coating over the film and the remaining panels if you want the combined benefit. If your car already has an older coating, we assess it during inspection and prepare the surface accordingly.
Does PPF work on bikes as well as it does on cars?
Yes, and in some ways it matters more on bikes. Tanks and fairings are handled and scuffed daily, and bike PPF with a self-healing top coat keeps those surfaces free of the zipper and buckle scratches that otherwise accumulate around the fuel cap and tank sides. Can only the damaged section of film be replaced?
Yes. Film is installed panel by panel, so if one panel takes serious damage, that panel's film is removed and replaced without touching the rest of the vehicle. This is a major cost advantage over repainting, and the paint under the damaged film is typically untouched.
How long does installation take, and do I need a booking?
Partial packages such as a front-end wrap typically take one to two days; full body PPF takes two to three days depending on the vehicle and the paint correction required.
